Blooming Blossoms

Went for an edgy look today, but toned down with some floral prints and sheer texture. June is the month when the sun goes down and rainy season begins. As of now, Manila weather has been unpredictable everyday. One moment it rains and the next thing you know there's a rainbow in the sky welcoming the sun to be out again. Between these mixed weather signals, I get confused on how to plan my daily outfits. So I opted to meet both the sun and the rain halfway and wore a long sleeves top yet sheer, and a mix of black, metallic, and floral prints.

New Beginnings

Two stores that caught my attention have opened recently, Uniqlo and Miss Selfridge.

Miss Selfridge is one of my favorite shops in London. I died in Oxford Street when I finally had the chance to shop in its origin. I love Miss Selfridge because of its up-to-date fashion pieces and good quality clothing. It recently opened its flagship store in Greenbelt 5 last Wednesday, June 20, 2012. During the opening, items were all at 20% discount! Some pieces that I liked were the blush-colored peplum dress, coral mullet skirt, black cut-out dress, and pumps!

Another store that has opened recently is Uniqlo, starting with its flagship store in SM Mall of Asia, the spaces where Kultura and Marionnaud were before. Rumor has it that Uniqlo is to open 50 stores in the Philippines for a span for 3 years. Go Uniqlo! I don't really shop a lot at Uniqlo when I go on a shopping spree in other countries mainly because of my fashion preference. I like fashion forward, edgy and up-to-date pieces more than buying basics. But Uniqlo is the best store to get affordable yet good quality basics. I could not drop the legging pants that costs only 1,500 pesos. I love the basic tees and tank tops which are certainly good investments in my wardrobe. I will definitely be going back to Uniqlo for my wardrobe revamp plans. I also loved the ad placements of Uniqlo inside MOA. Some of those are:

Will I see you in both of these new and exciting stores?

Hard Rock

Hard. Rock. Metal. These are some words that I could think of while deciding for a title for this outfit. I went all out in the edgy department this day and pulled out leather, black velvet, red hot color, animal print, and metallic. Even my nails were painted red that day. Well, not exactly. I used raspberry torte nail polish from Dashing Diva for my nails. I had this halter backless animal print dress from ZARA for a long time now and still haven't worn it to any event. I guess I am just way too conservative to wear any backless for now, so I decided to wear it with a leather jacket for an edgy look. And then, the next thing I know is I got hold of this red hot shorts, then that studded black belt, then that silver neck piece, and finally the black and silver wedges. There it is, certainly a hard rock look.

Tropical Lime

While mints and pastels are so in this season, I don't remember a fashion report that says limes cannot be a major fashion statement this season. Sure neons are all around, but they are mostly bright hues of orange and yellow. This time, I wanted to make lime as my color of the day.

I was feeling so sweet and flirty that day that I decided to wear something that represents my mood. I went for a simple sheer polo top and floral shorts to show my spontaneity and the fun quirky side of me.

I did not want to be too girly or too lazy that day because I had to go do errands and work, so I chose a sheer long sleeves top to tone down the casualness in my look.

I chose this necklace because it matches the color of my floral shorts. It's elegant and gives an oomph to my top and shorts outfit. I love this necklace, currently my favorite neck piece because it's two-toned!

I still stuck to my regular accessory - a watch. I really cannot live without wearing a watch because I am a control freak when it comes to time management, and so I need a watch to constantly remind me and monitor the time. Especially that day was not a rest day to me, I could not go out of the house without it.

I wore this cute checkered wedges instead of flats to avoid looking so "weekend"-y. And it's still fun and quirky with the checkered print.

Wild Flower

Since Fall Winter 2012 season is approaching soon, I wanted to wear figure-forming pieces and black clothing to embrace this new and upcoming season. It has been a long time since I have worn formal and chic attire like this. This time, I carried on the "Peplum" trend from last Spring Summer season and incorporated it to a more stylish and sophisticated look.

I matched this black peplum top to a leatherette corset body con dress (used as skirt). It fit perfectly and formed this black Peplum dress.

I put on a black slim belt, black and gold bracelet, and an embellished ring to accessorize the look. I went for minimal accessories to emphasize the black ensemble more.

This is what the belt looks like from the back. Love the surprise stud details when I turn.

I wore black velvet pumps to complete the look. I bought these from a bazaar and loved it because of the soft texture, although it is painful to wear these pumps for a long time. Velvet is one of the trends that are on a lookout for this upcoming Fall Winter season.

Playboy Bunny

Fall Winter 2012 trends are fast approaching. Black leather, metallics, and masculine shapes... It's a season to celebrate the power of women. Since it is officially June, start of rainy season in the Philippines, I started updating my wardrobe and lookbook with Fall Winter trends, and put out my black leather vest and metallic shorts in front.

I feel this outfit as Lady Gaga-ish, with black ensemble and the metallic silver neck piece. Also a bit Tomb Raider-ish, and put on a braid Lara Croft number on my hair do. I did it myself. This is my current obsession. I have realized that I really suck at fixing my hair for events or dates or just hanging out with friends, and I am now trying and experimenting hairstyles that I could do easily. I did this by putting all my hair on the left side of my shoulders, then divided my hair into three sections. Then, criss-crossed the three sections to form a braid. Finally, I put on some braided hair ties from Goody, and hair pins to keep my loose hair in place.

I matched a silver neck piece to my studded black dress which was used as a top. Then I put on some rings to complete my look.

Honestly, I failed the "woman-on-top" look that I was trying to achieve in this outfit because I was on the rush in the morning. I forgot to wear pumps instead of these silver metallic flats. Oh boy, the next time I will try to plan my outfit, including shoes, the night before. Hehe!

What do you think of my Playboy Bunny number? =)
